The Beaver offers quality comfort food in a laid-back café atmosphere inspired by late-night dining in New York City. It also happens to be what The Toronto Star has deemed “an alt-culture oasis.” for the city’s arts and music communities.
Formerly an art gallery, Lynn McNeill and his then business partner Will Munro took over the space in 2006. They were ahead of the wave that has transformed Parkdale into a hub of dining and nightlife.
To this day, The Beaver remains the nosh spot of choice for regulars and visitors alike in search of good food and a welcoming atmosphere. They come for their morning cup of Joe, lunch on grilled paninis and dine on signature mains like our lamb and goat cheese burger. On weekends they enjoy brunch staples and Beaver specialties like Baked Chocolate and Almond French Toast. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are always on the menu.
At night, the Beaver remains a happening space, with rotating special events and guest DJs.
Whether you’re in the mood for a latte or something a little stronger, a space to quietly read or pound the dance floor until last call, or even just a great patio to hang out on, The Beaver is your local.
