Whether you hail from Corcovado, Ipanema or even somewhere outside of Rio de Janeiro, you won’t be able to resist the sounds of the new Brazilian beat coming out of the sound system at The Beaver this coming Thursday. I will be mining the vaults and surfacing with a crate of records from the golden era of Bossa Nova, a time when cocktails were plentiful and hip jet setters danced the samba whilst wearing modern cut blazers.

Really, it’s nothing but some good people sipping quality craft beer in a tight joint while I hit switches on classic platters until the wee hours.

This will be the last ‘Just Like That’ jam for a little while – not a full departure, but more of a winter hibernation.
